Skye: Then and Now

Donald MacLeod

Donald will be taking a look at the changes in customs in and around the village. He will be comparing and contrasting customs and attitudes when he left the island in 1952 with the way it was in 1994, when he returned. He is hoping for some contributions from the floor as he goes along. Do come and share your memories.

will be talking about the resettlement of families from Harris and Lewis to Fiscavaig, Portnalong and Fernilea in the 1920s, the livings they made, the connections with modern times and the Lamb to Loom exhibition held in 2013 in Portnalong.
